Turkmenistan participates in UNESCO's World Conference on Cultural Policy and Sustainable Development

The delegation of Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Mahri Byashimova, is participating in the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policy and Sustainable Development (MONDIACULT-2025), which is being held in Barcelona, ​​​​the Kingdom of Spain, from September 29 to October 1. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

As noted in the report, the main goal of the conference is to develop strategic directions for the development of cultural policy for the coming decades and to include culture in the post-2030 global agenda as one of the main conditions for sustainable development.

In her speech at the joint thematic session "Culture and Peace" and "Culture and Education", M. Bashimova emphasized the importance of the President of Turkmenistan's policy aimed at preserving and promoting the rich historical and cultural heritage, strengthening cultural dialogue, and actively developing cultural diplomacy.

It was emphasized that Turkmenistan's strong commitment to the principles and fundamental visions of UNESCO is reflected in its active participation in the implementation of the organization's key programs and initiatives, its contribution to strengthening partnerships, and the development of international humanitarian cooperation.

The conference, which is being held with the participation of delegations from more than 160 countries, discusses modern areas of international cooperation, including ensuring cultural rights, digital transformation, the interaction between culture and education, the development of creative industries, the connection between culture and climate change, the preservation of cultural heritage in complex situations, and the future of using the capabilities of artificial intelligence.

The World Conference is held every four years and serves as the leading international forum for dialogue and cooperation in the field of cultural policy.
