Today, the next meeting of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, during which the results of the activities for the first half of 2026 were reviewed and the topical issues of further improvement of the implementation of the country's initiatives and commitments within the framework of cooperation with the UN on education, science and culture were discussed.
The participants paid special attention to the issues of expanding cooperation with the Organization of the Islamic World on Education, Science and Culture (ICESCO) in connection with the official acquisition by Turkmenistan of the status of the observer state at this organization. Prospective directions and mechanism of further cooperation with ISESCO were considered as part of the discussion.
At the meeting, priority tasks for further strengthening of international cooperation between Turkmenistan and authoritative international organizations, as well as a plan of direction of work for the upcoming period, were determined, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
