The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey and the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan signed an agreement on Tuesday in Istanbul on the transportation of Turkmen natural gas to Turkey through Azerbaijan and Georgia. Bloomberg HT reports this.
Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, together with Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov, took part in the signing ceremony of an agreement on cooperation in the field of natural gas between Turkey and Azerbaijan in Istanbul.
As part of the negotiations, Bayraktar recalled that the two countries have developed the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline and the Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP) project.
Earlier, the management of the Turkish state-owned company BOTAŞ expressed its readiness to provide support in the export of Turkmen gas to the Turkish market.
