On the 24th to 25th of June, the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly will host mental arithmetic competitions among schoolchildren. The goal of the competition is to develop the speed of thinking and creative abilities of schoolchildren, identify and encourage children who show the highest results in studying mental arithmetic, and popularize mental arithmetic as one of the types of intellectual sports.
In accordance with the Regulation on holding mental arithmetic competitions approved by the Ministry of Education, 110 talented schoolchildren aged 6-14 from all over the country will take part in the final round. The competitions are held in seven categories, two of which are related to setting national records.
On the first day of the competition, schoolchildren will demonstrate their abilities in performing various mental arithmetic tasks related to mental calculation of the calendar, extraction of square roots, addition and multiplication in the mind. On the second day of the competition, the participants will have to demonstrate their talents in the mental arithmetic category of «Flash Anzan Marathon».
On the 25th of June, 2024, the results of the competition will be summed up at the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, the names of the winners will be announced and the corresponding diplomas will be presented.
