    June.16.2026

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via videoconference with Deputy Prime Minister T. Atahalliyev and regional governors to review the state of the country's agricultural sector, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister reported on the progress of the seasonal campaigns. He stated that the wheat harvest is ongoing: measures are being taken to ensure the efficient use of agricultural machinery, the uninterrupted delivery of grain to receiving stations, and timely payments to producers.

Agronomic maintenance, including inter-row cultivation, mineral fertilizer application, and irrigation, is underway in the region's cotton fields. At the same time, potatoes and melons are being harvested and sold within the framework of the increased fruit and vegetable production.

Rice sowing continues in the Dashoguz and Lebap velayats, and land for sugar beet is being prepared in the Mary velayat.

Following his report, the head of state emphasized the key role of the agricultural sector in the national economy and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure strict oversight of the harvest and cotton crop care in accordance with agricultural standards.

The President also set the task of conducting the grain harvesting campaign at a high level, without allowing any crop losses.
