On March 5, 2024, representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) visited the Turkmenbashi International Seaport to discuss issues related to the establishment of bilateral cooperation.

During the visit, the visitors were given a presentation in the conference hall of the Yolagchy-ferry terminal, detailing the equipment and techniques of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, services and prices. Then the guests got acquainted with each terminal individually and learned about the possibilities and capacity of the port. Also, the guests were told about the advantages of the "customs rule" regime for cargo in transit. This service allows you to store various cargoes and goods within the port without paying customs duties for up to 3 years. This method is convenient for many customers, that is, it will significantly reduce the time and costs for registration of customs documents and transportation of goods.
