    March.20.2024

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan was unanimously accepted into the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Turkic States. The information was confirmed on March 18 by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The decision on permanent membership of Turkmenistan was made following the results of an extraordinary meeting of the General Assembly of the Union, which took place on March 6.

The Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkic Countries was created in 2019 and is an effective platform for the development of trade and economic cooperation between the Turkic states. Currently, it includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan. Hungary and Northern Cyprus have observer member status.

Membership in the Union will open new ways for Turkmenistan to expand trade and economic ties with the Turkic states, attract investment into the country, increase the export of Turkmen products and further improve the business climate in the country.
