Today in our country, according to the established good tradition, World Bicycle Day is widely celebrated. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the mass bicycle ride held in the capital on the occasion of this international holiday, which took its rightful place in the United Nations calendar.
One of the original attractions of Ashgabat is the «Bicycle» monument, located at the intersection of Chandybil Avenue and Bekreve Street, where the route of the festive bike ride begins.
Having given the start to the mass bicycle ride, the Head of State led a column of participants that began moving along the route running along the capital’s Chandybil and Bitarap Turkmenistan avenues.
Raising a physically strong, spiritually rich and harmoniously developed young generation is a priority of the state policy of the Fatherland in the Revival era of the new epoch of the powerful state. In this context, the involvement of young Turkmen citizens in regular physical education and sports is identified as one of the primary tasks.
Thus, the festive bike ride became another symbolic expression of the unity and cohesion of our society, the commitment of Turkmen people to a healthy lifestyle and enduring humanistic values.
