
The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, has sent a New Year greeting to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the "Watan" news program reported.
"I remember with fondness our recent meeting in Ashgabat during a prestigious international forum. The successful holding of the forum clearly confirmed the international prestige of Turkmenistan and the high appreciation of the international community for the policy of Neutrality that it has been consistently implementing for 30 years," the congratulatory message reads.
The Russian leader expressed confidence that joint active relations between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan will continue to develop enhanced strategic cooperation. Putin emphasized that this cooperation is carried out in the interests of the friendly peoples of the two countries, as well as to strengthen security and stability in Central Asia and the Caspian region.
The Russian President wished Serdar Berdimuhamedow good health, happiness, and success in state affairs, and the people of Turkmenistan prosperity and progress.
