President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, who is on a working visit to Tokyo, met with Emperor Naruhito of Japan today.
At the beginning of the talks, the Head of State said that this was his second meeting with Emperor Naruhito this year, and expressed confidence that this meeting would be an important step towards further expanding bilateral cooperation. Taking this opportunity, the Honorable President congratulated the Emperor on the successful completion of the EXPO-2025 World Exhibition in Osaka.
During the meeting, they expressed satisfaction that cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan had been brought to a qualitatively new level, and expressed confidence that cooperation would be further deepened in such areas as high technologies, renewable energy sources, information solutions, and sustainable development. In particular, it was noted that the experience of Japan in such areas as ecological security, "green" energy, water resources management, and ecological technologies is of particular interest to the Turkmen side. It was also confirmed that the parties are ready to intensify cooperation in the field of science and education, culture, and scientific and academic exchanges.
