On January 31, representatives of the Russian Railways Logistics company, a subsidiary of Russian Railways OJSC, visited the Turkmenbashi International Seaport. According to the Turkmendenizderyayollary Agency, specialists familiarized themselves in detail with the capabilities, services and capacities of the general, bulk, container and passenger-ferry terminals of the seaport.

As part of the working visit, a meeting was held between representatives of Russian Railways Logistics with specialists and management of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, Demiryollary JSC and PJSC Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan. The parties discussed the possibilities of logistics in the transport sector of Turkmenistan and the advantages created by our country for foreign forwarders.

The guests spoke about the possibility of carrying out regular transportation of grain crops between the ports of Makhachkala and Astrakhan-Turkmenbashi international seaport in the direction of Afghanistan and Iran, as well as the possibility of carrying out regular container transportation between the ports of Turkmenbashi - Astrakhan.

Russian experts said that they would send their recommendations through official channels based on the results of the analysis, noting that they are interested in delivering goods to the international port of Turkmenbashi by sea from March 2024, if the results of the analysis determine this is favorable. The message also talks about the guests' plans to visit railway stations "Bereket" and "Ak Yayla" in Balkan velayat.
