President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko sent a congratulatory message to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the occasion of May 9 – Victory Day of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
In his address, the Belarusian leader noted the special significance of this date for peoples bound by a shared historical memory. "This sacred date is forever inscribed in the destinies of the Soviet peoples. Our fathers and grandfathers stood shoulder to shoulder to defend our common future, upholding the right to independence for future generations," the message reads.
Alexander Lukashenko emphasized the enduring importance of the memory of war heroes, calling it "a moral compass and a warning against repeating the tragedies of the past."
The message also addressed the topic of bilateral relations. The President of Belarus expressed his conviction that "the friendship between the peoples of Belarus and Turkmenistan, which withstood the harsh trials of wartime, remains an unshakable foundation for strengthening good-neighborly relations and expanding comprehensive cooperation."
In conclusion, Lukashenko wished Serdar Berdimuhamedov "inexhaustible energy and new achievements" in his government work, and prosperity and peace to the citizens of Turkmenistan.
