A meeting between the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, and the Secretary General of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, Dmitry Kobitsky, took place on the sidelines of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The parties noted that meetings held within the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly provide an opportunity to develop ties between the parliaments of countries, promote parliamentary diplomacy, and exchange best practices in legislative activity.
The parties also exchanged views on organizational issues of international and parliamentary events aimed at ensuring sustainable development and the exchange of positive experiences.
A discussion was also held on upcoming challenges planned for Turkmenistan in 2026 as part of the country's chairmanship of the CIS and the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
We previously reported that a delegation from the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, led by Chairperson Dunyagozel Gulmanova, participated in the 60th plenary session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the CIS, which took place on May 22 in St. Petersburg.
