
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via video link with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyyev and the governors of the velayats to discuss the progress of agricultural work in the country, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
As the Deputy Prime Minister reported at the meeting, the transport of the harvested wheat from collection points to warehouses and grain elevators is currently underway, and proper grain storage is being ensured. Fields cleared of wheat are being plowed and leveled in preparation for next year's sowing; agricultural machinery and seed stock are also being readied.
Inter-row cultivation, the application of mineral fertilizers, and irrigation are being carried out on the cotton fields of the provinces in accordance with agrotechnical requirements. Harvesting of vegetables and melons continues in the regions to supply the domestic market.
Crop maintenance is underway in the rice fields of the Dashoguz and Lebap velayats. In the Mary velayat, irrigation is being carried out on sugar beet fields to ensure germination, alongside the tending of crops that have already sprouted.
After hearing the report, the President noted that the grain harvesting campaign had entered its final stage and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to strictly oversee the loss-free wheat harvest, preparations for the upcoming sowing campaign, and the tending of the cotton crop.
The Head of State emphasized the importance of ongoing seasonal agricultural activities and the need for a comprehensive approach to addressing the tasks at hand, issuing a number of specific instructions to the meeting participants.
