Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari on his election as the country's president, the country's state news agency reports.

“I look forward to working together with you to further develop new areas of friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan,” follows from the congratulatory telegram from the head of the Turkmen state.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also wished Asif Ali Zardari good health, happiness and success in his activities, and wishes peace, further progress and prosperity to the people of his country.
