Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Jeong Won-ju, Chairman of the Board of South Korean company Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.
The parties noted the consistent development of the interstate partnership based on mutual respect, trust, and understanding. Leading South Korean companies have been implementing large-scale projects in Turkmenistan's oil, gas, and chemical industries for many years, making a significant contribution to the development of bilateral economic cooperation. The effectiveness of cooperation with Daewoo was noted.
The head of Daewoo expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and confirmed the company's commitment to successfully fulfilling its contractual obligations.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the chemical industry is one of the steadily growing sectors of the country's economy. The industry's primary development strategy is aimed at producing products for the national economy and export-oriented goods using local raw materials.
The head of state also reported that the country is undertaking large-scale work to modernize and diversify the economy, and that major production projects are being implemented within the framework of state programs.
Jeong Won Ju noted that the company is honored to contribute to the implementation of socio-economic programs in Turkmenistan and thanked the president for creating favorable conditions for Daewoo Engineering & Construction's operations in the Turkmen market.
