U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Sergio Gore held a telephone conversation with Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov on January 30, according to a post on the U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat's social media page.

During the talks, the parties discussed progress in strengthening regional security and economic development in Central Asia. The American side confirmed its interest in expanding its partnership with Turkmenistan, including developing business ties between the two countries.

The conversation took place as part of the ongoing dialogue between the United States and Turkmenistan on bilateral cooperation.
