
India and Turkmenistan share a common interest in strengthening peace and stability in the region, as well as combating the threats of terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking, said Indian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Bandaru Wilsonbabu at a reception on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of India's Republic Day.
The diplomat noted in his speech: "The friendly relations established between India and Turkmenistan in recent years have been steadily developing, our countries continue their close cooperation within the framework of the UN and on the basis of the India-Central Asia dialogue. India and Turkmenistan are interested in ensuring peace and stability in the region, and in jointly combating threats such as terrorism, extremism, radicalization, drug trafficking and cybercrime."
He stressed that India stands for peace, but will not hesitate to take decisive measures to protect its people from terrorism. The Ambassador also thanked the government and people of Turkmenistan for their support and solidarity with India in this fight.
Wilsonbabu said that India will continue to share its development experience and knowledge with Turkmenistan, especially in areas such as defense and security, oil and gas sector, healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, and digital infrastructure.
