On the second day of the "Maritime Economy of Iran" forum, Trade Development Organization Foreign Affairs Adviser Mirhadi Seyedi, Telecommunication Development Organization General Director of Support and Training Seyyed Ali Emami, Infrastructure Affairs, Urban and Road Construction Minister's Advisor and other high-level experts of the transport sector participated. They held a discussion on "Government's Role in Trade Facilitation and Transit Development".
During the day, an exhibition dedicated to the maritime industry was held. During the exhibition, the Turkmen side held talks with the general manager of India Ports Global Chabahar free zone Jiledar Singh. During the talks, they noted that Turkmenistan acts as a Euro-Asia bridge on the West-East corridor and has many opportunities to develop international trade circulation on the North-South corridor. An example of this is the passage of ships of the national fleet in this passage and the transit of cargo through the Turkmenbashi International Port. It should also be noted that Turkmenbashi International Seaport offers 50% concessions to port operations for transit cargo. This leads to a reduction in transportation costs.
The Turkmen side stated that one of the priority directions of participation in the forum is to reach new heights in maritime transport relations between Iran and Turkmenistan, strengthen bilateral cooperation, exchange experience and strengthen friendly relations between the countries.
