Today, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyev and regional khyakims. As reported by the "Watan" news program, the working meeting considered issues related to the country's agricultural sector and the work being carried out in the regions.
The regional governors reported on the ongoing seasonal agricultural work. As noted in the reports, currently, in the regions, wheat fields are being fertilized with mineral fertilizers in accordance with the rules of agricultural engineering. As part of the preparation for the sowing of wheat, plowing, leveling, harrowing, and mineral fertilizer application are being carried out in the fields.
In order to provide cotton producers with high-quality seeds, necessary measures are being taken to prepare cotton seeds, repair and properly store agricultural machinery and equipment used in sowing. At the same time, as part of preparations for the spring sowing of winter cereals and vegetables, appropriate work is being carried out to prepare the areas and seeds for sowing, and to improve the reclamation conditions of the fields. Necessary measures are being taken to harvest the sugar beet crop grown in Mary province without losses and to process it.
Reports were also provided on the measures taken to ensure the normal operation of the heating systems of cultural and social buildings in the regions, to provide the population with electricity, natural gas, and drinking water, and on the status of construction work on facilities planned to be put into operation in the regions this year.
Listening to the reports, the President of Turkmenistan once again drew attention to the ongoing seasonal agricultural work and noted the importance of carrying out plowing and leveling work in the areas where cotton will be sown in the provinces in accordance with the rules of agricultural engineering, paying special attention to providing cotton producers with cotton seeds, and in this regard, preparing high-quality cotton seeds, agricultural machinery and tools to be used in spring sowing in accordance with the season, and carrying out maintenance work in the fields in a timely manner before the sowing campaign.
The Head of State also gave specific instructions to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev and the regional khyakims to monitor the timely transfer of accounts for the work done for the cotton and wheat harvest in the regions, rice in Lebap region, and sugar beet in Mary region between cotton and wheat producers and service agencies in the regions, to prepare the agricultural fields of the regions for spring sowing, and to properly conduct irrigation and sanitation work in saltwater channels around the fields
