
In their New Year greetings to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov and the Governor of Astrakhan Oblast Igor Babushkin expressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation between the regions and implement joint projects. The text of the congratulatory letters was published in the TDH state news agency.
Beglov emphasized that in the new year, "important joint projects will be implemented that will contribute to expanding the established bilateral cooperation and strengthening friendly relations, mutual understanding and trust." According to him, this will help "maintain mutual understanding and trust between the northern capital of Russia and Turkmenistan."
In his letter, Babushkin emphasized the special level of relations with the Turkmen side: "Turkmenistan is a close friend, neighbor, and reliable partner of the Astrakhan region," the congratulatory message reads.
He emphasized that over the years of cooperation, thanks to the attention of the President of Turkmenistan, many joint socio-economic projects have been implemented. The Governor expressed confidence that cooperation between the regions will be equally effective and will be further developed in 2026.
