
Turkmenistan intends to improve the work of its Protocol Service amid the country's expanding foreign policy activities. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov presented relevant proposals at a Cabinet meeting, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
According to him, Ashgabat's intensified international contacts require raising the level of organizational and protocol support in line with international standards. Turkmenistan regularly hosts high-level official visits, major international forums, and multilateral meetings to discuss political, economic, and cultural cooperation.
The Minister presented initiatives to modernize protocol activities based on the laws "On the Diplomatic Service" and "On State Protocol." Training specialists in this field was identified as a priority.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs proposed sending young diplomats to specialized advanced training courses at the Diplomatic Protocol Training Center at the Institute of International Relations. There are also plans to send employees to foreign courses to exchange experience and invite foreign experts to conduct short-term programs in Turkmenistan.
