
Turkmenistan's Defense Minister Begench Gundogdyev participated in the first meeting of defense ministers of Central Asian countries in the city of Samarkand, the Uzbek website "UzA" reports.
During the meeting held on October 20, the defense ministers of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and Tajikistan discussed key issues of ensuring regional security, the development of military and military-technical cooperation, as well as measures to jointly combat international terrorism. Following the talks, the parties signed the relevant Protocol.
Within the framework of the meeting, bilateral talks were also held between the defense ministers of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
After the official part of the event, the delegations were given a tour of the historical and cultural monuments of Samarkand.
