Today, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid a working visit to Mary Velayat, where he got acquainted with the progress of seasonal agricultural work, as well as with the large-scale work carried out to fulfill the tasks arising from the National Rural Program. The head of state held a working meeting with the heads of the agricultural sector. This was reported by the "Watan" news program.
The working meeting discussed issues related to the development of the agricultural sector and scientific research activities in this area. During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyyev reported on the work currently being carried out by the country's scientific research, grain, farming and cotton institutes, in particular, on the measures taken to develop agriculture and seed production on a scientific basis.
The President of Turkmenistan, after reviewing the report, noted that the work of research institutes is of great importance in developing the agricultural sector through diversification, and gave a number of specific instructions in this regard.
During the working meeting, Mary Velayat Khyakim D. Annaberdiev and other relevant officials reported on the comprehensive scientific work being carried out to increase the fertility of agricultural lands and test new varieties of various crops.
After listening to the report, the Head of State noted that significant importance should be attached to the quality of scientific research carried out on crop selection and breeding, and in this regard, it is necessary to effectively study the developed international experience and modern agrotechnical methods. Noting that the issues of increasing the experience of scientists in this field and improving their professional level should be systematically monitored, the President of Turkmenistan gave a number of specific instructions to the relevant officials in this regard and concluded the working meeting.
